The Mitre Tavern Steakhouse, as our name suggests is known for grilling and serving Melbourne’s finest steaks. With a selection of our sauces and sides carefully chosen to compliment the flavours of the grilled beef you will experience the best Melbourne has to offer. All steaks meet certification required by MSA and CAAB and are selected from prime Australian pasture and grain fed steers.

Together with our Suppliers we strive to source locally produce products when available. Most of our Beef is Victorian Grown, produced and processed in Australia's most prized beef producing region - Gippsland, in Southern Victoria. Recognised for its rich pastures, clean air and water. Gippsland is the ideal breeding ground for fine British bred cattle. CAAB is produced in regions such as the Dandenong Ranges and Gippsland region in Victoria; the Barossa Valley through to the Coorong and Limestone Coast in South Australia and the Riverina and New England Tablelands in New South Wales. Certified Australian Angus Beef is bred by Australian Angus farmers to exacting standards, and then fed for 120 days on high quality cereal grains. All of our beef is carefully aged to ensure its tenderness.
